The IDPrime PIV 3.0 card from Thales is a dual-interface smartcard, suitable for public and private organisations who want to benefit from the NIST PIV or CIV standard.
Delivering high levels of security for identity management and authentication, this PIV card is an update over earlier Gemalto IDPrime PIV cards, for use with contact and contactless readers. It has 146kB of memory and features an ISO 14443 compliant contactless interface as well as an ISO 7816 contact interface. The card is electrically pre-personalized with a default data model, PIN values and master key, and is configured to use Global Secure Channel Protocol 03 (SCP03).
IDPrime PIV 3.0 cards are certified to Federal Information Processing Standard 201 (FIPS 201-2) and FIPS 140-2 Level 2 validated. US customers will find them listed on the GSA Approved Product List.
Please note that you will require additional PIV-compliant issuance software in order to use these cards for applications such as Windows log-on.
